Random outburst:

I just read a dizzying blog post that contained forty seven* rules for writing novels that had been broken in forty seven books I've enjoyed.

I think I will stick with one rule: write a good story, and someone will read it. That's really all I can do.

*I'm exaggerating. There were really only forty six rules.
